Intention of this template

  • Is it intended to update this template with the new portal tools as and when they are developed?
  • If so, the full set or just the most basic subset that will provide a viable portal?
  • How does it relate to {{ Box portal skeleton}}? · · · Peter (Southwood) (talk): 09:04, 28 July 2018 (UTC) reply
@ Pbsouthwood: Initially, it was supposed to be a demonstration of the new portal automation templates, and use a single-page layout (minus the then-necessary /box-header and /box-footer subpages). The state of {{ box portal skeleton}} at the time was aligned to the older portal format, before we overhauled it and converted everything to the automated version. At this point, {{ dead simple portal}} is deprecated, and has been superceded by the latter. Unless anyone could think of a use case for a "simple" portal format, I'll just make this into a redirect to the other one. — AfroThundr ( u · t · c) 00:52, 31 July 2018 (UTC) reply
That seems reasonable. It can always be split again if we find we need a stripped down version, but I am hoping for an eventual Portal Wizard that takes one through the steps and allows one to select the applicable components for the specific portal from the suggested options, which would let one consruct anything from a basic portal to a complete portal in one process, possibly based on a reasonably complete outline list for the topic. · · · Peter (Southwood) (talk): 02:33, 31 July 2018 (UTC) reply
