UFA's
Why aren't unrestricted free agents listed here? UFA's are still listed
here, and their omission makes for a nasty discrepancy between this template and
Template:Chicago Bears roster navbox.

UFAs are technically not on the team until re-signed. They are still listed on the Bears' roster page so they don't have to add them back if they're re-signed.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully all discreps are resolved now.

UFAs have no connection with the team past March 5. They should have been removed from the navbox but those aren't updated as frequently. It doesn't matter what the team website has.

PR/KR
Why are PR/KR not listed in the offseason, even if the team's official roster lists them?
Groupthink (
talk) 00:56, 17 March 2010 (UTC)reply
Because of
WP:V. We base KR/PR off actual returns in preseason and regular season games, not who the team media relations department or webmaster (i.e. the "official" roster) thinks will be the returners.

What about when the official depth chart is released in the preseason? Do you list those guys as the returners?
RevanFan (
talk) 01:41, 17 March 2010 (UTC)reply
Because only a handful of teams actually have "official" depth charts. Besides, the first preseason game is right around that time anyway.

Idonije position
Given that Lovie & Co. have telegraphed that Idonije is shifting to left end, should we change the listing for I² to DE, or perhaps DE/DT?
Groupthink (

I think it should wait till either the depth chart is released in the summer or Lovie makes an official announcement. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 16:08, 2 April 2010 (UTC)reply
I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Position Moves
As the Bears are transitioning to a 3-4 defense, some players’ positions might be in flux. I suggest avoiding
speculation on which players will transition from DL to LB until there we have a reliable source from the Bears organization (direct quote from a coach or depthchart). Per
chicagobears.com, John Fox has stated some players, like Lamarr Houston, will initially transition to LBs. However, this will depend on off season workouts and training. I am basing roster information directly from the Bears website
[1] The actual depth chart will be provided this summer
