As this template is becoming rather large and as Dragon boat racing seems to be a self contained topic, the Dragon boat racing articles should perhaps be moved into a NavBox of their own? -Arb. ( talk) 13:41, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
The "Venues & competitions" section of this NavBox looks like a good candidate for hiving off into two specific NavBoxes. Category:Canoeing competitions contains a *lot* of articles. -Arb. ( talk) 14:26, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Category:Canoeists definitely needs its own NavBox. -Arb. ( talk) 14:31, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
This template is not a navbox. It is a big ugly useless mess, a dumping-ground for a large indiscriminate subset of the articles from Category:Canoeing. Who is going to use this template, and what are they going to use it for? Read through Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and navigation templates for some guidance. jnestorius( talk) 18:47, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I think the venues section should be in its own separate template. Additionally, the venues listed here are mainly slalom and not sprint venues. Chris ( talk) 22:02, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Is it worth having a separate article on Canoe and Kayak Competitive Sports to supplement the individual sports' articles? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex Chamberlain ( talk • contribs) 10:53, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
There is a discussion at WP:Kayaking about redesigning this template, see: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Kayaking#Redesign of Template:Canoeing and kayaking — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesmcmahon0 ( talk • contribs) 18:58, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
