Africa/Oceania

Why are these continents on the template as there are no bids from either location? I question the need for the Continent markers at all. I know there has been some back and forth on these items. What is the case of the editors who continue to re-add them? Cheers-- Cbradshaw ( talk) 19:25, 23 February 2008 (UTC) reply

"<year> Summer Olympics bids" list section

This template is included in 2016 Summer Olympics bids which is already transcluded with a per-year Olympics bids list-containing navbox, such as {{ Olympics bids}}. Is there a need to have a duplicate of such list in this template (and in {{ 2012 Summer Olympics bids}} as well)? Parutakupiu ( talk) 18:30, 19 July 2008 (UTC) reply

I don't think it's necessary. Also, I question the links to bids that never materialized. No one is ever going to make a page for those bids. I think the list with a link to a ref is all we'll ever need.-- Cbradshaw ( talk) 21:22, 19 July 2008 (UTC) reply

"Postulant" city?

Does the IOC (or anyone else) really use the term " Postulant city"? That is as obscure an English word for this context as I can imagine. — Andrwsc ( talk · contribs) 17:32, 9 April 2009 (UTC) reply
