I'm not sure about some of the characters we currently have in the links template. I think it's been up to individual editors who went in so far so I'm hoping to start some discussion here to build a consensus.
Currently the police section includes McNulty, Greggs, Daniels, Freamon, Carver and Hauk. I would like to see Bunk in there. He's been a starring character for longer than Freamon, Carver and Hauk. Rawls and Burrell probably should also be included. I thought maybe dividing the police up into officers and investigators would give enough room to achieve this.
The street section includes Wee-Bey, who is only a guest starring character. Perhaps D'Angelo and/or Cutty should be in there.
In the docks section I would swap Serge for Beadie as she was a starring character.
Politics seems Ok for now but Norman Wilson is a starring character so I'm interested to see whether he develops to become more significant than other characters, Phelan for example. -- Opark 77 19:59, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone else think there should be a section added focusing on The School? It is one of the major categories on HBO's character website. [1]. Perhaps it could include the four core students, as well as maybe Prez and Colvin. Of course, the students should probably get their own character pages first. Also, shouldn't it say Season 4 on the top bar as well? Just a thought. Thebogusman 20:51, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
I tried to revert what looked like a vandal edit, only to find it had already been reverted. Sorry about that. It would help if popups were giving me the correct version. However, it was wrong when I tried to revert back too. Will ( Talk - contribs) 23:18, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
I see that we've already got the new starring characters on the template. Good work. We could put two more sun reporters up before seasons end. I'd consider Whiting, Klebanow and Fletch and I'll be back with reasons once the premiere airs!-- Opark 77 ( talk) 21:39, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
I've restored "Politics" and "Journalists". Politics is the sections header for the plot summary on every episode guide and the show's politician characters include those at state level so "city hall" is not really appropriate. The journalists header is a link to the Journalists of The Wire article and is therefore consistent with the useage elsewher. Journalists is more widely known than "newsroom".-- Opark 77 ( talk) 07:54, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
As Spiros is the second in command under The Greek, isn't it logical that he would be categorized as a soldier, in a similar manner to Wee-Bey and Partlow, both of whom were the number twos in their respective organizations? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Frebel93 ( talk • contribs) 13:47, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
The Wire portal was recently deleted. I've removed the red link from the template. BlackcurrantTea ( talk) 11:47, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
