Non-standard colors, non-standard links

Can this template please just use the standard navbox colors? The development and long-time use of the navbox template represents an established consensus for the appearance of such boxes on Wikipedia. Using non-standard colors, as were used on this previously, hinder the utility of the template by making it unreadable on some systems. Similarly, the use of non-standard colors and/or styles for wikilinks does the same. For the most part, types of links on WP all appear the same—i.e. all external links are the same, all internal WP links the same—so that readers have a reasonable expectation of where a link goes. Changing colors and/or styles because it "looks better" does nothing to improve the experience for readers. — Bellhalla ( talk) 13:51, 21 July 2008 (UTC) reply
