I've made a change to the template's sandbox code so that it will show an expiry date and custom reason in the hover-over message. Would an admin please copy over the code from the sandbox. There is also an updated documentation subpage at User:Callanecc/doc which explains how it works. I've tested it with different parameters and as long as it is used per the documentation it'll work just fine. Any problems please leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! Currently, when a user floats over the padlock icon for this template, the pop-up message reads "The article is semi-protected until [June 24, 2015] for [vandalism, etc.]" Shouldn't that be changed to "The article is pending changes protected until [June 24, 2015] for [vandalism, etc.]" (or something along those lines)?... Anyway, hopefully somebody can take a look at this, if necessary. Thanks in advance. Callanecc, Mr. Stradivarius: The documentation says
|expiry=
parameter. Do not use |expiry=indef
(or indefinitely
) as this will break the template. But if you don't do that, the page is put in Category:Wikipedia protected pages without expiry. What does "this will break the template" mean, exactly? The page is categorised into Category:Wikipedia pending changes protected pages (level 1); the silver padlock is displayed; it has the tooltip "All edits by unregistered and new users are subject to review" and links to Wikipedia:Protection policy#pc1.
