I'm not good at fiddling with template layouts, so if someone could organize these by the major groupings that would be great; i.e. the Interior Plateau should be a section, and the Fraser Plateau and Thompson Plateau subsections of it; the Stikine Plateau should be its own section also; the Tagish Highland should be part of it, the Shuswap and Okanagan Highlands should be part of the Thompson Plateau, the Quesnel Highland attached to the Fraser Plateau/Cariboo Plateau. NB the Cariboo Plateau is the most common use of that name, but there is a small plateau, officially by that name, on the east side of the Spallumcheen Valley (between Sicamous and Enderby) which does not have an article yet - presumably its titles would be Cariboo Plateau (Shuswap Highland). In some reckonings the Thompson Plateau, normally a subdivision of the Interior Plateau, is included as part of the Fraser Plateau; and the Highlands are often considered part of the adjoining mountain ranges - Holland is not clear on that, btw. No time to format it, maybe later, but here's a copy-paste of the full list resulting from a search of BCGNIS using "% plateau" ("%" is a wildcard).
No. Feature Name Feature Type NTS map Latitude Longitude Status
NB the Cariboo Plateau given is not the best-known one, which for some mysterious reason is not in BCGNIS, but its staffer tells me it's incomplete anyway; a curious omission for a term so widely-used though, likewise Chilcotin Plateau. The Edziza Plateau also isn't listed, though it includes the Arctic Lake and Big Raven Plateaus....the Snowshoe is part of the Dease Plateau, I think (the Dease Plateau being another "major" division like the Stikine and Interior/Fraser Plateaus, the Silwhoaikun and Bonaparte I'm not sure if they belogn to the Fraser or Thompson Plateaus, the Nicola and Nicoamen certainly do. Plateau-like formations like Tahaetkun Mountain and the Spa Hills and so on are not given, of course (Takhaetkun is the height of the Thompson Plateau about West Kelowna, the Spa Hills is a high flattopped plateau immediately west of Salmon Arm).
