Template:Laboratory equipment → Template:Chemistry lab equipment — There are more to laboratory equipment than stuff chemistry labs, different types of labs have other equipment, in addition to this, or in place of this; when renamed, all the transclusion links should be updated, to allow for other uses of the current name (to be decided at WP:SCIENCE, WP:ENGINEERING, WP:TECHNOLOGY; after the move is completed) 65.93.12.101 ( talk) 13:02, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

- Oppose The argument for moving is not clear. Laboratory equipment is simply that, chemistry laboratory equipment is specific to a chemistry laboratory and would be a subdivision of this one. Why not just create the template "Chemistry laboratory equipment" and start using it? To move this one and then expect everyone to fix it afterwards is completely the wrong way round. This is a bit of a strange, badly worded and badly thought out move request. Create the template for Chemistry lab equipment and start adding it - after all the centrifuge, electron microscope, test tube, bunsen-burner, microgramme scales, hydrometer, fractional distillation column etc. are all general lab equipment used by more disciplines than just chemistry, surely there will be much lower numbers of lab equipment confined to just the chemistry lab?
Even now I am struggling to think of one example of a piece of equipment that would solely be used for chemistry...maybe the proposer can enlighten me as to two examples of such equipment? (I was thinking it would be the fract. dist. column then I realised it could be used in biology and astronomy... Chaosdruid ( talk) 21:11, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
