Blazon parameter

I notice that a "blazon" parameter has recently been added to this template. It seems that if a value isn't given for this parameter it rather strangely shows the string {{{blazon}}} in the infobox. Shouldn't the template test for the existence of a value? - David Biddulph ( talk) 01:00, 29 February 2012 (UTC) reply

I believe that I have now addressed this point, but I'm not an expert on template syntax so if I've screwed it up please feel free to revert my edit. I wonder whether the same may be appropriate for some of the other parameters? - David Biddulph ( talk) 01:10, 29 February 2012 (UTC) reply
Well done, I was hoping this would be fixed by someone with the relevant competence but thought in the meantime the addition of the blazon line was a valuable addition. Works perfectly. I'm not sure if the problem exists for the other parameters - do they show as strings in the infobox if no content? ( Lobsterthermidor ( talk) 18:05, 8 April 2012 (UTC)) reply
Is there any particular reason the example blazon parameter doesn't contain an actual blazon, only a caption? Here's what the blazon for the example looks like: Quarterly, first and fourth Sable, a lion rampant Argent armed and langued Gules, in a canton Argent a cross Gules; second and third, quarterly, first and fourth Argent, second and third Gules, a fret Or, overall on a bend Sable three clams Argent; overall in chief an escutcheon Argent, a cross Gules, surmounted by an inescutcheon Azure, three fleurs de lis Or. Baronetage

FYI, I've expanded the template to be used by baronets as well, and updated the documentation. Мандичка YO 😜 08:53, 28 September 2017 (UTC) reply

Merge discussion

@ Galobtter: The template from the Baronetage - Peerage merge discussion should not be called "infobox nobility title". A baronetage is not a title of nobility. Please call it "infobox hereditary title" - thank you. Мандичка YO 😜 22:38, 16 December 2018 (UTC) reply

Wikimandia, I said "or some other suitably named template" so whoever is doing the merge can after discussion merge to the best title, say {{ infobox hereditary title}} Galobtter ( pingó mió) 05:23, 17 December 2018 (UTC) reply
@ Galobtter: right but you closed the discussion, so where was I supposed to point out it shouldn't be called that? Thanks. Мандичка YO 😜 15:04, 17 December 2018 (UTC) reply
