This template is used for giving pronunciations in
Hindustani, a Central Indo-Aryan language whose two registers
Hindi and
Urdu are among the official languages of India. The template's name features an
ISO 639 code "hns", which is the code for
Caribbean Hindustani, an Eastern Indo-Aryan languages spoken in the Caribbean. That's an infelicitous choice that only contributes to an already confusing situation. Couldn't this template be renamed to something less misleading? –
