GP15D and GP20D

I'm wondering whether or not these two locomotives really belong on this list. Their most recent incarnations were Tier 2 compliant... but if Tier 2 compliance is the threshold for being on this list, then shouldn't locomotives such as the SD70ACe and ES44AC also be on this list? — BMRR ( talk) 18:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC) reply

You are correct, feel free to add the GEVO's and SD70ace, etc. Wuh Wuz Dat 18:55, 21 July 2009 (UTC) reply
Sounds good. Should we put some kind of footnote somewhere on the template that says "Low emissions locomotives are those which meet EPA Tier 2 or higher"? That might help to clarify things. — BMRR ( talk) 19:00, 21 July 2009 (UTC) reply
Again, sounds like a plan, either in the template and/or in List of Low emission locomotives. Wuh Wuz Dat 19:11, 21 July 2009 (UTC) reply

Do we really want to include locomotives that are 100% electric?

And if so, which ones? All of them? That would probably increase the size of the template by 20x or more. Please see my comments at Talk:List of low emissions locomotives. — BMRR ( talk) 03:32, 5 October 2009 (UTC) reply

North American focus ?

Apparently, this template has an American focus to me, as no European low-emission locomotives are listed. Therefore, it might be better to change the title to "Low emissions locomotives in North America", as EPA regulations only cover that region (in Europe, low-emissions engines have to comply to European Union/UIC Stage IIIA or Stage IIIB). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Btrs ( talkcontribs) 14:00, 2 September 2012 (UTC) reply
