Table change

The recent change to table style would be better to be discussed first, it wasn't simply a tidy as the edit summary indicated. [1]. Ive reverted to allow that discussion to take place. Blethering Scot 22:23, 6 February 2013 (UTC) reply

Change to table: add disciplinary record

I previously created my own template Template:Fb ss3 header by copying this one and editing it. I did so to simplify what was shown in 2 separate tables. When I had difficulties with my template I was advised ( here) to request a change in this template rather than creating my own. So that is what I'm doing. My request is to add the disciplinary record to the existing template as shown here.-- 2nyte ( talk) 13:07, 11 November 2013 (UTC) reply

Sorting

Is there any way to add sorting to the template KAS( talk) 08:04, 4 December 2014 (UTC) reply

Edit request: Change to wikitable and add sorting

Hi, Could you please add the changes from the sandbox? It changes the table to use wikitable. Uses default width, and allows sorting. Also a bit cleanup. See how it is on the testcases Tholme ( talk) 20:46, 12 December 2018 (UTC) reply

This seems like a pretty big change for a template that is used in 4,000 articles. Would you mind copying the template as it is being used in ten or so articles (semi-randomly, not all from the same club) and putting them on the testcases page for comparison? Thanks. – Jonesey95 ( talk) 02:29, 14 December 2018 (UTC) reply
I have added 10 testcases semi-randomly. Also forced numeric sorting on some columns so that we make sure that the sorting for Apps, Goals and No. are numeric. The biggest change is really the adding of sorting, but that is also a very handy feature requested above. Its also very easy to reverse by just removing class="sortable".
Not setting width means that the table will use all the space that it needs, but no more so that all player names fit inside the columns as long as is enough room on the page. It will not be wider. The cleanup is just removing of rowspan="1" that is the default value anyway. Wikitable is used on most tables on wikipedia so is heavily tested. Tholme ( talk) 11:38, 14 December 2018 (UTC) reply
Done. Almost every table on the testcases page is narrower, which is a Good Thing, except Real Madrid, which had a lot of small columns. The sorting arrows added some width to that table. Overall, this is an improvement, so I have implemented it. As below, I do note that this template is transcluded in almost 4,000 pages, so I expect that somewhere, someone may notice some undesirable side effects. That person is welcome to ping me here with a link to the affected page. – Jonesey95 ( talk) 11:45, 14 December 2018 (UTC) reply

Template-protected edit request on 13 December 2018

Change the "Player" column width (42%), because it is much too wide. Example: 2018–19 Real Madrid C.F. season#Squad statistics BundesBerti ( talk) 22:19, 13 December 2018 (UTC) reply

Done. I reduced the width of Player column to 25%. I tested it on about 20 pages, and it looks reasonable with large and small browser windows (I tested with my normal window of 1,245 pixels wide, and I also tested with an 800-pixel-wide window). I do note that this template is transcluded in almost 4,000 pages, so I expect that somewhere, someone may notice some undesirable side effects. That person is welcome to ping me here with a link to the affected page. – Jonesey95 ( talk) 02:25, 14 December 2018 (UTC) reply
See above section. This change has been supplanted by a newer version. – Jonesey95 ( talk) 11:45, 14 December 2018 (UTC) reply

option to remove number column?

Is it possible to add an option to remove the number column so this template can be used on articles prior to the introduction of squad numbering? For example, 1977–78 Leeds United A.F.C. season looks odd since the number column cannot be filled. Many thanks, Microwave Anarchist ( talk) 22:13, 20 August 2020 (UTC) reply

Removing total column

Hi, is it possible to remove the Total column? For example, this is the situation in 2020-21 Palermo season. The club will play only Serie C-- Iennandrea ( talk) 09:19, 6 September 2020 (UTC) reply
