I checked two of the articles in "Major holdings" ( Crewe and Cloughton) and neither seems to mention the Duchy of Lancaster at all. Neither does the Duchy of Lancaster article mention them, or what a "Survey" is. It has the statement "The duchy comprises 18,700 ha (46,000 acres), including key urban developments, historic buildings, and farm land in many parts of England and Wales, as well as large holdings in Lancashire." Is it really the case that the entire town of Crewe is owned by the Duchy? Its own site states:
