This link does not work, therefore: {{subst: unsigned2}}

I would suggest that span titles (mouseover text) be added to either this template or {{
Coor dm}}, whichever it would work to add it to. The idea came from a discussion on the help desk a while back about making the coord template more prominent and alluring to those who may not know about all the useful information it holds. I'm not exactly sure how to put it all together, I managed to get something that works (but is probably quite inefficient) by subst'ing both teplates and adding the text to use in the infobox on
Mackinac Island.
The code I came up with is
<span class="plainlinksneverexpand">[http://tools.wikimedia.de/~magnus/geo/geohack.php?params=45_51_40_N_84_37_50_W_type:isle <span title="Click here for maps, aerial photos, and other data about Mackinac Island"><span style="white-space:nowrap">45°51′40″N,</span> <span style="white-space:nowrap">84°37′50″W</span></span>]</span>
which gives
The text to add would have to be a param, but I'm not exactly sure which template to add it in.
Click here for maps, aerial photos... looks much better to me than http://tools.wikimedia.de/~magnus/geo/geohack.php?params=45_51_40_N_84_37_50_W_type:isle

Thanks, I've made the changes, with minor modifications: (0) closing </span> fixes, (1) I didn't use "Click here" since that's redundant, and (2) I wrote "about (coordinate)" rather than "about {PAGENAME}", since at least the non-title versions could be used for coordinates other than the subject named by the page. The {coor at} templates don't seem to work; can't figure out why. — Quarl ( talk) 2007-03-08 09:30Z
Hi, thanks for adding the tool tips. It's definitely an improvement. However it strikes me every time I see it that having the coordinates repeated in the tool-tip makes the tool-tip too complex and un-user-friendly. I think replacing them with simply "this location" would be an improvement in all cases. The tool-tip would be adding explanation / simplifying language as is its primary purpose. -- GregU 19:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
