I would like for the discussion of Fort Pillow to be removed. The statement made is simply not true, and I understand it is cited but they have false information. Saying black soldiers were especially targeted is inaccurate, they were offered surrender just like the other union soldiers. Their foolishness expecting reinforcements that were not coming led to their demise as they all ran like cowards towards the Mississippi River. Many of the Union soldiers were actually killed by drowning in the river. I also would like to point out that there was no massacre. Any reference to what General Forrest did at Fort Pillow should not be mentioned in the same sentence as the word massacre. 166.248.111.26 ( talk) 05:15, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
I would like to suggest the following to replace what's currently listed for sub-ethnic groups:
I am not sure why, of all the aboriginal African ethnic groups, Igbo has been listed, especially when Igbo are not indigenous to The Americas. However, I understand it may be do to their prominent presence and achievement throughout history and across the globe compared to all other sub-ethnic black groups. Nigerian Americans do rank as the most affluent, in terms of education and income levels, among all African descendants in the United States of America. Bab-a-lot ( talk) 16:07, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
