Was the Hebrew Bible the orginal or a copy of the orginal?

I have a problem with the Hebrew Bible in general. I know the Hebrew language originally consisted of only 22 letters, no vowels. It was a dying language when Moses was alive. Jesus nor any of his disciples spoke Hebrew. First bible written in the 1st century was not in Hebrew. It was not until the 6th century when the Jewish Bishops wanted a Bible written in Modern Hebrew. The original Hebrew Bible disappeared a very long time ago. Only a copy of it remains.
