This template is used on approximately 24,000 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

Usage

Place any of the following on the talk page of related pages:

Unused parameters may be omitted. This template automatically adds articles to Category:WikiProject Fungi articles.

Optional parameters

• attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention.
  • This parameter populates Category:Fungi articles needing attention.
• class – valid values are listed in the custom class mask. See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |class= blank or omit the parameter.
• importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na ( case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |importance= blank or omit the parameter.
• lichen – set |lichen=yes if the article is supported by the Lichen task force.
  • This parameter populates Category:Lichen task force articles, and the relevant subcategory of Category:Lichen task force articles by quality based upon the |class= parameter.
  • lichen-importance (only used if |lichen=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within the Lichen task force. If blank or omitted, the importance rating set by |importance= is used.
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Lichen task force articles by importance.
• listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Beatrix Potter, use |listas=Potter, Beatrix so that the talk page will show up in the P's and not the B's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter.   If the article is using {{ WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
• mycologist – set |mycologist=yes if the article is about a mycologist or someone who contributed to the field of mycology
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Fungi mycologist articles.
• needs-mycomorphbox – set |needs-mycomorphbox=yes to request that a {{ mycomorphbox}}, which lists traits used to identify a mushroom, be included in the article to improve its quality.
  • This parameter populates Category:Missing mycomorphbox.
• needs-photo – set |needs-photo=yes to request that an image or images be included in the article to improve its quality.
  • This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested images of fungi.
  • imagedetails (appears only if |needs-photo=yes is set) – Additional details to describe the image that is requested.
  • in – if |needs-photo=yes is set, |in=place also adds the page to a further category, Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in place.
  • in2 and in3 are similar, allowing |in2=place2 and |in3=place3 for Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in place2 and Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in place3.
• needs-taxobox – set |needs-taxobox=yes to request that a taxobox be included in the article to improve its quality.
  • This parameter populates Category:Missing taxobox.
• unref – set |unref=yes if the page lacks sufficient references and/or adequate inline citations.
  • This parameter populates Category:Articles lacking sources.
• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Aliases

• The parameter |lichens= is recognised as an alias for |lichen=. If both |lichen= and |lichens= are present, |lichens= is ignored.

• The parameters |mycomorphbox-needed=, |mycomorphbox-requested= and |mycomorphbox= are recognised as aliases for |needs-mycomorphbox=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-mycomorphbox= → |mycomorphbox-needed= → |mycomorphbox-requested= → |mycomorphbox= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.

• The parameters |needs-image=, |image-needed=, |photo-needed= and |image-requested= are recognised as aliases for |needs-photo=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-photo= → |needs-image= → |image-needed= → |photo-needed= → |image-requested= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.

• The parameters |taxobox-needed=, |taxobox-requested= and |taxobox= are recognised as aliases for |needs-taxobox=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-taxobox= → |taxobox-needed= → |taxobox-requested= → |taxobox= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.
