This template is a Citation Style 1 wrapper template based on {{ Citation}}. For centralized Citation Style 1 discussions, see Help talk:Citation Style 1.

This external link template is underused, compared to the number of links to the site it represents ( check here). Please help convert those links to make use of this template, for ease of tracking, and ease of interoperability with Wikidata.

This template uses the Wikidata properties:

• Tropicos ID (P960) (see uses)
• taxon name (P225) (see uses)

Usage

Use this template to add a reference or link to a taxon or species within Tropicos or within a Tropicos project. You can optionally provide the Tropicos taxonId or other parameters to link to specific taxon, otherwise this template will retrieve the corresponding Tropicos taxonId from Wikidata (if the data is there). Put this template inside of <ref> tags to make full citations. Other parameters from {{ citation}} are available.

Easiest: retrieve wikidata

Simply use the tag by itself or leave first two parameters blank to generate a citation of Wikidata's corresponding link to ThePlantList for the current article's plant species.

Wikidata will still be retrieved when combined with other parameters below, as long as the taxonId space is left blank.
