This template is a Citation Style 1 specific-source template based on {{ Cite book}}. For centralised Citation Style 1 discussions, see Help talk:Citation Style 1. |
This template is for creating a properly-formatted reference citation to Mike Shamos's The New Illustrated Encyclopedia of Billiards, very frequently cited in
cue sports articles (see
WikiProject Cue sports for more information). It is almost always used inside <ref name="Shamos 1999">...</ref>
.
If you need to cite the same source in the same article more than once, use <ref name="Shamos 1999" />
for the subsequent citations.
This template cannot be
subst'd, unless this is done before it is put inside <ref...></ref>
(due to a bug in the <
ref>
and <
references />
system). There is no reason to subst it anyway, and doing so will produce messy results.
See {{
rp}} if a page number is needed in subsequent citations with the <ref name="Shamos 1999" />
notation.
Otherwise, simply add the page number(s) as a parameter:
Example:
Article text.<ref name="Shamos 1999">{{Shamos 1999|23–24}}</ref>
Produces:
Article text.

...
The access-date parameter must be specified manually:
{{Shamos 1999|23-24|access-date=2009-01-15}}
