Usage
The {{ WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

For non-standard grades and non-mainspace content, the following values may be used for the class parameter:

Maintenance parameters (answer yes to include them):
- attention - articles needing immediate attention.
- imageneeded - The article needs an image (other than a map); adds articles to
Category:Heraldry and vexillology articles needing images.
- imagedetails (appears only if imageneeded is set to yes) - Additional details to describe the image that is requested.
- infoboxneeded - articles needing an infobox.
To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
Notes
- Please use lowercase forms. E.g. imageneeded, imagedetails and yes. The uppercase forms generally do not work.
- A few redlink categories need fixing to get the Portal / Review functions working. The needed category tree can be seen under the WP:MILHIST project.
- Task forces are supported but this function has not been activated.
- The image request feature is listed "below the fold" when used. If people feel this is a problem, please let me know.
