This template is used to create by-year categories for sports in one of the insular areas of the United States,

e.g. Category:1968 in Puerto Rican sports.

Adds portal box, category explanation, navbox, and parent categories:

Usage

{{SportsYearCatUSinsularArea}}

No parameters are needed. The template parses the pagename, and extracts from it the year and name of the insular area.

Error-checking

The template checks that the page:

1. is a category
2. has a title of the form "YYYY in Fooian sports"
3. That "Fooian" is one of:
   • Guamanian
   • Puerto Rican
   • Northern Mariana Islands
   • United States Virgin Islands

If any of those conditions is not met, an error message is displayed and no other output is generated, but the page is added to a tracking category:

• Category:Errors reported by other category header templates (population: 1 pages)
  Note that this tracking page is shared with other category header templates)
