In Spain, a distinction is made between the Spanish Royal family and the King's Family. [1] Members of this royal family and the more extended king's family are listed in this template.
Per tradition, but also specifically regulated by Royal Decree, the Royal Family of Spain consists of the holder of the Crown (king or queen), his consort, descendants (children and grandchildren), and parents of the monarch. [2] Since the succession to the throne of the current king in 2014, the royal family consists of six members: [1] [3]

The King's Family are all close relatives (siblings, niblings, cousins, uncles/aunts) who, despite being related to Felipe VI, are not part of the Royal Family and, therefore, do not have any institutional role, unless they the King designates otherwise. [1]
