Alec Watson, commonly known by his YouTube username Technology Connections, is an American YouTuber who creates documentary videos about various topics relating to technology and history.
Alec's videos often consist of him, wearing his signature brown jacket and a T-shirt, explaining to the viewer about the history and/or function of a piece of technology with puns, dry humor, visual gags, running jokes, snark, etc. sprinkled throughout; B-roll, stock footage, and practical demonstrations are interspersed with this and oftentimes, he'll take apart a device in order to demonstrate how it works. The channel is often known for his sometimes unhinged eccentricity and high quality content.

In 2007, Alec started a YouTube channel under the username "edisonphono1" which consisted of videos of phonograph cylinders. [2] Videos explaining technology would shortly appear with an exploration of how an electromechanical pinball machine works, a topic he would later revisit.
The channel "Technology Connections" was created on 9 November 2014 with the first video, the first in a series which explored the artificial reproduction of sound, [3] being uploaded on 23 September 2015. [4] In 2017, Alec started a second channel called "Technology Connextras" where he often uploads unscripted in depth videos or addendums related to main channel videos. [5]
