Tas [1] [2] [3] is an agricultural clan of the Indian and Pakistani Gurjar ethnic community in Indian Punjab. Tas Gujjars are adherents of Hinduism, Islam and some are also Sikh.
They inhabit several different Indian states, including Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh [1] and Dehli. In Pakistan they inhabit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Balochistan and Punjab (especially in Gujrat, [3] Lahore and Gujranwala districts) provinces of Pakistan.
The Gujjars of Himachal Pradesh whether Hindu or Muslim , no- madic or settled , identify themselves simply as 'Gujjar' and they have many Gots (clans) such as Tas, Kataria, Kor, Kheppad, Toor, and so on.
It is said that there are 101 sub - divisions of Gujars which may be following:__ List of Gujars, Tas , Bhadana, Cawari, Nun, Khari, Paur, Ralaita, Awane, and many other.
