Taras Hromyak (born March 19, 1993) is a Ukrainian footballer who plays as a midfielder.
Hromyak initially played with FC Ternopil's reserve squad in the Ternopil local circuit. [1] He would join the professional ranks by signing with the senior team that competed in the Ukrainian Second League during the 2013-14 season. [1] [2] Following a brief stint at the professional level, he returned to the amateur ranks by playing in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Football Federation region with Kalush in 2013. [3]
He returned to Ternopil in the summer of 2015 to play in the country's second-tier league. [4] [5] In his debut season in the second division, he appeared in 14 matches. [6]
In the summer of 2017, he went abroad to play in the southern Ontario-based Canadian Soccer League with FC Ukraine United. [7] [8] In his debut season with the western Toronto side, he assisted the team in securing the divisional title. [9] [10] He would also finish as the second division's top goal scorer with 15 goals. [11] In the second round of the playoffs, the club faced Brantford Galaxy II where Ukraine United successfully advanced to the championship finals. [12] Hromyak was featured in the championship final match where he contributed two goals against Burlington SC to secure the title for the club. [13]
In 2018, he re-signed with Ukraine United and played in the league's first division. [14] [15] He would help the club in securing the divisional title and as a result in clinching a playoff berth. [16] [17] However, the Toronto side was eliminated from the postseason competition in the second round by Scarborough SC. [18] He would also finish as the club's second-highest goal scorer with 8 goals. [19]
In 2019, he returned to the Ukrainian Amateur Football League to play with Nyva Terebovlia. [20] [15] In 2020, he played with Agron where he was named Ternopil's region's best player of the year. [21] The following season he sustained an injury which ruled him out for the majority of the season. [22]
