Tammiku ( German: Eichenhain) is a small borough ( Estonian: alevik) in Jõhvi Parish, Ida-Viru County, in northeastern Estonia. It is located about 3 km (2 mi) southwest of the town of Jõhvi and about 2 km (1 mi) northwest of Kohtla-Järve's Ahtme district. As of the 2011 census, the settlement's population was 291. [1]
Tammiku was first mentioned in 1241 in the Danish Census Book. It is the birthplace of Estonian amateur featherweight boxer Evald Seepere (1911-1990)
