Background on the article as initially created

I created this article after being asked to do so by persons outside of the WP editing community. The article was based on a paper which had been written outside of Wikipedia by Zalman Alpert, Librarian, Gottesman Library, Yeshiva University. I emailed Zallman Alpert asking him to make that paper available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License, and he responded as follows:

Hello,

Just to confirm I waive all copyright rights for the article about rabbi Yaakov Horowitz.I agree to all terms as set forth by Wikipedia as noted in this message. My phone # is <elided> or <elided> I am currently a librarian at yeshiva University and my professional address is <elided> I hope this will clarify any issues involved. Sincerely,

Zalman Alpert

The initial version of this article is essentially a wikified version of Zallman Alpert's paper, with a few updates added by me. -- Boracay Bill ( talk) 23:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Sweeping changes

This article is due for many fixes since its creation - the greatest of which I shall begin to address now. Most of the article has no relevance to Rabbi Horowitz, but would do well in other articles. I shall move irrelevant pieces of the article (with correct attribution) to their proper places.

I have essentially finished; the other problems will have to wait for someone with better writing skills. הסרפד ( Hasirpad) [formerly Ratz...bo] 03:10, 31 December 2012 (UTC) reply

External links modified

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Yaakov Yitzchak Horowitz. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{ cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{ nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
