I felt it was necessary to add this section as it's the single most important issue in the area for the last 15 years. It's very difficult to provide an NPOV view of the situation, as the media have themselves demonstrated, many articles are thinly veiled prop pieces for either the Yarloop and Districts Concerned Residents Association or for Alcoa, and I think both sides have their vested interests in the outcomes. Not something one often comes up with in writing a history section on a little town! (Essentially copied from Yarloop article) Orderinchaos78 21:45, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Reference: Page 2, Inside Cover article "The West Australian" newspaper dated Wednesday 24th January, 2007. Reporter Ben Martin exposes edits from an IP address at the Alcoa servers being responsible for editing the wikipedia article on Wagerup to remove mention of the debate on health effects on the community from it's refinery. The edits exposed are:
