Cultures that see trees as sacred, and/or that have trees as important in their mythologies, don't actually "worship" the trees. The closest may be puja offered to tulasi in Hinduism, but even that is about honouring the spirit who has in mythology sometimes taken the form of the tree. I propose a move/rename. How is it that many parts of the world have been extensively researched on trees in mythology yet Africa has only been mentioned twice? I come from a tribe in Kenya where an African fig tree 'mukuyu' is honoured as the shrine of God( yes God, not gods). Lets discuss trees in African mythology. This article is not about "trees in mythology" but the concept of the "sacred" tree. It is the singular to sacred grove's plural. Currently, this article treats the word mythology as a synonym for non-Abrahamic religions. That is not OK.
