Hello, I'm Tony Alcantar's assistant, Claire. I've been made aware that I'm not allowed to edit due to the COI - totally understandable. Therefore I'm requesting that some edits are made and some updated material is added. If I've done this wrong, please let me know how I can fix it. Tony works in the film industry and therefore it's important the information is relevant as it will help him STAY relevant and keep booking the next job. Producers frequently google stuff like this. Tony Alcantar is the only name he's known by (not Tony Alcanta or Tony Alcanter) and that's the only way he spells it. His given name is Anthony Joseph Alcantar. His occupation should be changed to Dialect Coach. While he still does acting, and voice acting - it's dialect coaching that is his passion, career, what takes up 90% of his time, and what he's actually known for in the film industry.

I saw the My Little Pony update, which is great - but it's a tiny little thing compared to what he's been doing in the last decade. Just this year, he's worked on numerous award winning shows with award winning actors. Most recently, with Ewan McGregor on FARGO season 3. He also dialect coached Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman (and the rest of the cast) on FARGO season 1. He coaches Rufus Sewell on The Man in the High Castle. I'm not sure how to source these precisely. His IMDB page shows all this, and we have pictures and quotes galore on his website, www.tonyalcantar.com That might be considered a biased source, but I don't know how else to site my references. I got the pictures from my boss (tony), and the quotes came directly from the actors, producers, casting directors, and students that said them. I have personal e-mails they sent me with said quotes but I don't think I can cite that! Perhaps you can put up the one Halle Berry wrote? Since we have a picture of her actual written note on our website...? I've included some photos of Tony - both his past work at Second City, and his more recent photos on set.

He IS Vancouver's #1 Dialect Coach - I see how that could be considered a COI - but it's not hard to find out that he's Vancouver's MOST REQUESTED Dialect Coach. Perhaps that could be put in? There's some quotes on our website to back it up....and just his list of jobs on IMDB is larger than any other dialect coach in Vancouver (I'm not sure how to cite that). He also works all across the United States and Canada - most frequently in Vancouver, LA, San Francisco, Calgary, Toronto, New York, and Chicago.

He's also known for the numerous classes he runs throughout the year, teaching all sorts of dialects. He studied under Chicago’s premiere dialect coach Belinda Bremmer.

His post-graduate training includes an extensive knowledge and practice of the Middle Eastern, Asian, Russian, French, German, Spanish and Yiddish accents as well as the English dialects of Cockney, Standard British, Scottish, Irish, New York, American East Coast, Chicago, Midwest, and Southern.

He's a recipient of City Council Resolution by Chicago’s Mayor Richard J. Daley for “contributions to our city’s cultural life”, 1995 - see photo attached.

Hopefully photos are enough of a source for some of these things...I haven't been able to attach them below like I planned, so I will try to upload them as the pop-up suggested. They're also on his website.

Tony also doesn't want the names of his children on his page if it's possible to remove that.

Thanks for posting to the talk page. It's difficult to remain unbiased about topics which you're close to, and a lot of people don't even try. We appreciate that you're taking the time to go about this the right way. The first thing I should probably say is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and its duty is to inform readers. If other people benefit as a side-effect, that's a bonus for them – but our purpose is not to be a "who's who" guide. One thing you'll hear about often on Wikipedia is " reliable sources". Basically, we write our articles based around what we can find from newspapers, magazines, academic journals, books from well-known publishers, and websites with a professional editorial staff.

I found some sources online about his work on Fargo, and there's probably more that could be said about that. However, we can't really decorate this encyclopedia article with promotional soundbites. That's more for the IMDb than Wikipedia. What would be especially helpful is if you (or someone else connected to Tony Alcantar) could point out coverage that he's received from newspapers. I used to have a subscription to a newspaper archive or two, but I let it lapse. We could probably find someone who's got access to back issues of film trade magazines and newspapers, but it helps a lot if you you can give us an idea of what we should be looking for. Hi Ijustwanttofixmyboss'spage. I just want to add a few things what to NinjaRobotPirate posted above. It's usually better to make smaller more specific edit requests than trying to ask for everything at once. All editors are volunteers and there tends to be many more requests made than volunteers trying to answer them. So, those who are answering these requests may not be willing to take the time to read through a request like the one you made above to try to figure out exactly what is being requested. It's better to be as precise as possible by requesting things such as "I would like to change A to B" or "I would like to add this sentence supported by this source", etc. as explained in Wikipedia:Simple COI request and Wikipedia:Edit requests. Long requests consisting of lots of little requests can be harder to decifer and thus are often easier to decline. So, the easier you make it for another editor to understand your request, the easier it will be for them to possibly help you.

I think it will also be helpful to you to stop thinking in terms of "my boss's article" because it's really not; the subject's of articles do not have any final editorial say or claim of ownership over article content, so changes will not necessarily be made just because the subject of an article wants them to be made. This does not, of course, mean that Wikipedia doesn't care about your boss at all; if he or you find any serious problems (e.g., defamatory or libelous content), then you should follow the instructions at WP:BIOSELF and WP:COIADVICE.
