This is an intresting topic and I will try to expand more on it as time allows.

It's not at all clear from reading the stub and following the outgoing links whether this is an actual, or believed to be actual, ancient text, a legendary text mentioned in ancient literature, or an invention attributed to Early Modern mystics. With all due to respect to those who practice contemporary religions based on Early Modern mysticism, this shouldn't be too difficult to clarify, and I don't think that willful ambiguation is helpful to anyone. 71.67.121.153 ( talk) 02:51, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
This should clarify and should be included:

No, that link is not helpful at all. 71.86.29.218 ( talk) 19:43, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
See The Ancient Egyptian Book of Thoth: Text and The Egyptian Hermes: A Historical Approach to the Late Pagan Mind for two useful sources to expand the article. Dougweller ( talk) 11:49, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
An entry or mention on the page itself should be made for "The Book of Thoth: A Short Essay on the Tarot of the Egyptians, Being the Equinox Volume III No. V" by Aleister Crowley, whose book and the Tarot deck it describes, painted by Lady Frieda Harris, are keyed to the fabled book for purpose of gaining attention and intruding into its glamour as a cultural bauble. -- self-ref (nagasiva yronwode) ( talk) 16:03, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
The story of the book of thoth, IS the book of thoth. 66.65.112.202 ( talk) 00:27, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
