Recommending article for deletion. Don't think splenic flexure syndrome is recognized by most gastroenterologists; best correlate I can think of is splenic flexure intussusception? I think all else falls under the rubric of IBS. PubMed has no listings. Yamada et al. and Sleiseinger and Fordtran's (versions I have) don't have entries. Does this seem reasonable? Apologies to the authors.

- Please create Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Splenic-flexure syndrome and list your considerations there. I'd recommend sticking to policy-related criteria such as WP:NOR, notability etc. JFW | T@lk 09:07, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
I guess NOR is the best descriptor; it's more like splenic-flexure syndrome is an antedated term among gastroenterologists, and I think IBS is considered to be a better catch-all. -- Samir धर्म 09:26, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
“Splenic-flexure syndrome” with parentheses returned 831 results in Google on 7/20/2006. I would not call this insignificant.
Several medical centers including the Univ. of Maryland @ [1] and Temple Univ. School of Medicine @ [2], both list Splenic-flexure syndrome as a “Cronic Disorder”.
I can see no reason to remove this listing. It is true that most Gastroenterologists do not recognize it as a real condition. It is also a fact that as recently as the late 1980’s, most Gastroenterologists believed that Irritable Bowel Syndrome was mostly a mental condition.
