What's the relation to Shooto?-- Janto 01:39, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
The only relation is that their names are similar. Other than that they are two completely different and separate entities.
Shooto is full on MMA (with protective gear for certain levels) and Shoot Boxing is akin to Sanda, type of kickboxing where stand-up grappling & throws are allowed. Confusion might stem from the fact that Sayama alias Tiger Mask I used lot of kickboxing during his pro wrestling career - i.e using kicks and wrestling throws - which may have mislead people into believing that Shootboxing is Sayama's creation. And as Nysanda pointed out, Ceasar and Sayama were quite close compatriots, both having worked in Maeda's 1st iteration of UWF. -- TrickShotFinn ( talk) 11:04, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Ken has never practiced Shootboxing, has never trained with Caesar or anyone involved with Shootboxing. KingMob 20:58, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Shoot Boxing links at Google Books The Japanese word for Shootboxing (シュートボクシング) yields many results at Google Books. However, there is a bit of a language barrier for me, not to mention most of these examples are inaccessible for reasons. -- TrickShotFinn ( talk) 10:51, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
