Alumni...Someone copied these names from the Richmond, Indiana page. Many have lived in Richmond but ar not RHS grads. I've deleted some obvious ones but this needs more work.

MRSA

Why was the MRSA section deleted? It seemed significant to the history of the school, what with the parents' reaction to the policies and the news coverage. 98.220.223.197 ( talk) 20:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Where are the female notable alumni? Lisa Shepherd, Monique Walls, Stacie Shepherd...and those are just a few athletes... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.228.200.154 ( talk) 02:02, 19 August 2011 (UTC) reply

1924 basketball team photo

John from Idegon, why are you opposed to having File:Morton HS basketball-1924.jpg in this article? As stated in the caption and the cited newspaper article, future Hall of Famer Weeb Ewbank is in this historic team photo!  JGHowes  talk 19:42, 19 September 2020 (UTC) reply

JGHowes, WP:IMAGE tells us that photos are to illustrate copy, not decorate the article. It tells us also that we use illustration to help the reader understand the subject better. How does one understand Richmond HS better by knowing what some students looked like in a period not discussed in the article? Are you purporting that by knowing what one individual who attended this school looked like in the 1920s somehow increases one's knowledge of the subject? We generally do not even allow  portraits in notable alumni sections. But a photo of 11 non notable individuals with one purported, but not in any way sourced, notable alumni? No way. In general, photos of people do not do much to increase a reader's knowledge of any school. Any given student is only a part of the school for a short period. They are a minuscule part of the knknowledge about the school,  and seldom differentiating. John from Idegon ( talk) 20:45, 19 September 2020 (UTC) reply
Well, the question of whether this team photo from 1924 is merely decorative or serves to make the article more informative and interesting for the reader is a matter of opinion, of course. Obviously, we differ on that. If the concern is the poor quality of the picture, which is a newspapers.com digital scan of the halftone photo from the 96-yr old newspaper, I would readily concede the point. But as to it not in any way sourced, not so. The photo caption in the original newspaper clipping, which is linked as "source" on this Commons file, as well as Ref #6 in this article, does identify Weeb Ewbank, along with all of the other players and coaches.  JGHowes  talk 21:33, 19 September 2020 (UTC) reply
Would appreciate the opinions of other editors to see if there's a consensus, one way or another, whether to include the school's 1924 basketball team photo? —  JGHowes  talk 02:22, 6 October 2020 (UTC) reply
(There being no other objections, I've restored the school's 1924 basketball team photo).  JGHowes  talk 02:14, 1 June 2021 (UTC) reply
