Nobel Laureates in economics and their RG score

In a short paper, published on Academia.edu, the Austrian political scientist Arno Tausch documented the RG scores of the Nobel Laureates in economics from 1994 to 2015 with ResearchGate screenshots. [1]

The resulting RG scores for some of the Nobel Laureates were dismally low at that time, suggesting for example that 75% of Research Gate users are ahead of Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz, undoubtedly one of the most influential economists of our times. Other Nobel Laureates with relatively low RG scores were:

Hansen, Lars Peter 2013 RG score 24,19 percentile rank 77,50%

Prescott, Edward C. 2004 RG score 16,19 percentile rank 60,00%

Kahneman, Daniel 2002 RG score 15,79 percentile rank 60,00%

Stiglitz, Joseph E. 2001 RG score 7,99 percentile rank 35,00%

Heckman James J. 2000 RG score 29,77 percentile rank 87,50%

Scholes, Myron S. 1997 RG score 17,95percentile rank 65,00%

ResearchGate changed their procedures to calculate the RG score, but as of September 1, 2021, Joseph Stiglitz is still listed on ResearchGate with a score of only 8.56 [2], and ResearchGate remarks as well that

“Joseph Stiglitz's score is higher than 42.5% of all ResearchGate members’ scores” [3]

With 5 million users, this would suggest that Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz is better placed than 2,125 million ResearchGate users, but that 2,875 million scientists using ResearchGate are better placed than the Nobel Laureate in economics, 2001.

That's an unpublished "paper" that is basically a collection of screenshots. This is unsuitable for Wikipedia. Headbomb { t · c · p · b} 15:11, 1 September 2021 (UTC) reply
