The result of the move request was: No consensus on a new, more concise title. However, the page will be moved to Raids inside the Soviet Union during the Soviet–Afghan War for consistency with the other articles. Anarchyte ( talk) 07:02, 13 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Raids inside Soviet Union during Soviet–Afghan war → ? – This is definitely not the most WP:CONSICE title, but I honestly can't think of a better one off the top of my head. Perhaps someone else can. What about Mujahideen raids into USSR Waleed Ukranian ( talk) 05:12, 29 March 2024 (UTC) reply
I think Mujahideen wouldn't be suitable as Pakistani special forces were involved Waleed Ukranian ( talk) 08:11, 29 March 2024 (UTC) reply
I think the title should simply be renamed to “Afghan Mujahideen raids into the Soviet Union”, where context in the article already tells us this happened in the USSR during the Soviet Afghan War to make it more concise, additionally, Pakistani SSG involvement is already mentioned in the article. I think that'd do the job Waleed Ukranian ( talk) 18:15, 31 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Now I've realised in addition to Mujahideen the SSG,CIA and MI6 were also involved so... Waleed Ukranian ( talk) 13:51, 1 April 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Comment. Since opening this request the title has been improved with minor edits. Because the main argument seems to be a need for concision, this request should remain open and hopefully determine the highest and best title for this article. How about Afghan Raids into the Soviet Union? Me Da Wikipedian ( talk) 21:54, 5 April 2024 (UTC) reply
That could create confusion. The Soviet Afghan war saw the Soviets and the Afghan Armed Forces battle the Afghan mujahideen. AfghanParatrooper19891 ( talk) 08:30, 7 April 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose. I don't see the problem. "War" should be capitalized for consistency with Soviet–Afghan War and there should be a definite article before "Soviet" both times. Srnec ( talk) 05:35, 6 April 2024 (UTC) reply
