Hello @ TJMSmith: Today I removed your edit of July 2019 here, because the 3 "American" categories you added, as I stated in my edit summary of today here, aren't supported by the article. Please note the article states he is Puerto Rican, not American; in fact, the word "American" wasn't found in the article at all. It's unfortunate that here you undid my reversal --restoring your original edit-- without engaging in discussion first. The purpose of my writing here is to start the dialog. Per WP:BURDEN: "The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material." For the time being, while this matter is discussed, I undid your entry for a second time --just now-- until you can show --with cites-- he is indeed American. Once, you have shown that, the 3 Cats you added can be permanently reinstated. Thank you. Mercy11 ( talk) 04:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC) reply

@ Mercy11:, I do not need to explain that Puerto Ricans ARE Americans citizens. I would categorize him in the more specific Puerto Rican categories but they do not exist (yet). The American neurosurgeons, 20th-century American physicians, and 21st-century American physicians are umbrella categories of the hypothetical Puerto Rican ones. Please add those categories back to the article. TJMSmith ( talk) 04:48, 15 March 2020 (UTC) reply
I added a reference for his birthplace which makes him a native born U.S. (and PR) citizen. BTW, I also removed some unsourced information and added info about him being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His military career is still unsourced. Hello @ TJMSmith: I would be fine with those 3 categories until equivalent ones can be created for Puerto Rico-born neurosurgeons - I couldn't find them either, but adding them would be best at a time when a few other missing subspecialties can also be added. Thanks for the work on the unsourced contents part; there is still more c/e that I hope to get to as I can get the time to get back to it; for now, I am doing most of my work in real life.
