"Original research"

Loads of stuff has been labelled "OR" which is obviously not. Where a statement is not supported by a reference the tag {{ fact}} is more appropriate, unless it seems that the statement is an unsupported conclusion drawn by the author. Rich Farmbrough, 18:27 2 August 2007 (GMT).

Since that section is huge and needs to be split, and since this article is already here and covers several of the same points, I've proposed a merge to here. -- slakrtalk / 12:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC) reply

Another Research

Sorry but this research must also be taken into account: [1]

The sample of African Americans from Washington D.C. shows a significantly higher European contribution than the African Caribbean sample from Britain (18.6%±1.5% vs 10.2%±1.4%). In both samples, the native American contribution is small, with the 95% confidence intervals overlapping 0.0 (Washington, D.C.: 2.7%; African Caribbeans: 1.9%). In European Americans from State College, the west African and native American genetic contribution are low (0.7% and 3.2%, respectively). -- Zylan ( talk) 04:09, 18 July 2008 (UTC) reply

racially diverse country

is there another "racially diverse country" btw, it doesn't come to mind at first... Cliché Online ( talk) 05:26, 15 March 2010 (UTC) reply

It's time to look up a lot more sources.

I've been trying to gather a source list that would fit articles on this topic. This is not my main area of professional research, but one that comes up as an ancillary area to other research I do, so I've seen a few of the better scholarly sources before. What do any of you suggest for reliable sources about the issues discussed in this article? -- WeijiBaikeBianji ( talk) 05:03, 3 August 2010 (UTC) reply

Racism section

The 'Racism' section is completely distorted. It ignores the fact that racism has existed throughout human history and that every racial group in the USA harbored racism to one degree or another, including the American Indians who were largely xenophobic and racist and overall did not want to assimilate with other racial groups. The section more than suggests that 'racism' is the fault of white people, and because of slavery only. This is BS, and whoever wrote this garbage seems to be a hypocrite and a racist themself. The section suggests that racism exists between Blacks and Whites only and all because of slavery. This is ridiculous. Racism didn't "develop". It existed before slavery and among many different racial and ethnic groups. We are going to need a variety of sources and get a neutral account in place in this section. The previous version of this section was racially motivated and politically inspired and is definitely advancing a one sided and distorted POV. It doesn't refer to any of the other racism that exists among the many ethnic and racial groups in the USA. We need to get an accurate and neutral account in place. Please do not use Wikipedia to vent racist propaganda. -- Gwillhickers ( talk) 09:32, 14 May 2013 (UTC) reply

I've removed the section, which was completely unsourced. — goethean 14:37, 14 May 2013 (UTC) reply
Fair enough. As the previous account in that section was so one sided and racially and/or politically motivated and unsourced I figured at least we could do is write in a neutral and more encompassing account, even if it too was unsourced. -- Gwillhickers ( talk) 16:29, 14 May 2013 (UTC) reply

The entire section has been removed along with the previous distorted version which was also unsourced -- and the "Polemic" to which you so unwittingly refer to was the simple truth. Problem? -- Gwillhickers ( talk) 17:17, 15 May 2013 (UTC) reply
