Several of your opening sentences appear to be inaccurate as currently worded. Eliza Carpenter, Anna Lee Aldred, Alice Van-Springsteen and Wantha Davis among others, all raced well before Penny Early was born.
Diane Crump is listed by multiple sources (including Wikipedia) as the first female officially registered to ride in a Thoroughbred race in the United States (see Jockey). Aldred was a licensed jockey in 1939. Early's accomplishments are certainly noteworthy, so perhaps you could re-word her page in terms of the modern era, while still paying tribute to these earlier pioneers.
