This may be original research, but the M/V (moto veliero, "motorsailor") Antonietta Madre (built 1880) was actually sunk at Genoa in 1942. According to Regia Marina's files, the vessel was lost on 23 October 1942 by airstrike ( see here). The bombing was carried out by 85 Lancasters ( see here). This contradicts Bagnasco's report, but WP policies prevent us from elaborating any analysis per WP:OR.
