The picture if of sky rise apartments which are located in Bellevue, not in Newport. Doesn't anyone have a picture of Newport?

I agree with the ip dude. The picture is shown from cincinnati, pointing towards the bellevue part of the cities. It should probably not be shown on this article, maybe shown on the Bellevue article? WWEISREAL 22:12, 13 August 2008 (UTC) reply

The history of the county seat is convoluted, but Alexandria has been the only County Seat since 1840. I will provide documentation to show this in the next few days. Me again. I have a slew of paperwork now. About 900 pages worth of documentation. Someday, I'll get it all to a Kinko's and scan it all in. In the mean time, looking at the judge's ruling, page 2 - 3, it explains explicitly that "In 1840, pursuant to an act of the Kentucky Legislature, the county seat, then located at Newport, was established at Alexandria. No evidence has been presented to this court that this formal designation of Alexandria as the county seat of Campbell County has ever changed. Evidence provided by the Defendants that Newport is considered a county seat or one of two county seats by historians, encyclopedias (editor's note: Wikipedia was cited in this case) and government agencies is based upon practical realities of how county government and the court system have functioned, pursuant to law, in Campbell County for the past 150 years. Is the Frank Peluso who we have now as vice mayor related to the Peluso (referenced in thesis) who was in the Newport city commissioners office in the late 80's?

George Rattermann didn't eliminate all the brothels, they shut down the final ones on monmouth street in '05-'06.

The mainstream media always seem to not know what they're talking about. This author clearly does.....

Feel free to edit the timeline or perhaps even write a more lengthy section or whole page on the corruption history specifically, I think someone should but I'm not a good choice for it. Maybe forward this to someone else if you can't.

User:LoomCreek is insistent that this aerial photo from 1923, be included in the article. Images must be "significant and relevant", and "an important illustrative aid to understanding", per MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE. Are readers going to say, "gee, that's what Newport, Kentucky, looked like from an airplane in 1923!" Seriously, no one looks at a city this way. The image is low-quality and decorative, and should be removed. If readers want to see the city from 5000 feet, there's a link to a Google Map in the infobox. Okay, personally I do think it's useful for a few reasons. It shows the previous density of the city at the time before streets were widened and most notably shows the giant steel mill at the bottom of the photo by the river. If you look closely you can also see some of the rail tracks on some of the roads that made up the town/city's streetcar network at the time (such as the green line). - LoomCreek ( talk) 18:41, 8 October 2023 (UTC) reply

I don't think a wiki article is the place for dark, grainy, "if you look closely" pics that would likely make most people squint and find it difficult to derive informative value. I'd say, if someone wants to convey how a city looked at a particular time, they would need an encyclopedic-grade photo for that purpose, and this isn't it. It frankly looks spooky. Continue the search. Nobody should want their city presented in this low-quality manner. Think like your tourist office and proceed from there. That all said, linking to an image like this, as long as no better one can be found, might have some use in discussion of the earlier layout of the city.
