Description

The description of this route is incorrect; its eastern terminus was the Allegany State Park limits from its assignment to its removal. -- TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 16:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC) reply

Despite being a very short article, I'm passing it because it is well written, and since the road is no longer in existence, a picture is hard to come by. Good job! Cyclonebiskit ( talk) 11:43, 6 October 2008 (UTC) Looking through GA, I find this article interesting (ok, talk pages is for improvement, not fan mail.) Eventually, the article may be split for an article about the NY88 road that may someday be named NY 382. Chergles ( talk) 22:44, 27 January 2009 (UTC) reply

New name in the future?

From a practical standpoint, New York State Route 382 is a useful name. However, the current name might be "Access Road...." or "Interchange 19". It will become more complicated when the NY 382 designation is assigned to another road. Given the history of the road, I think the current title should remain. Chergles ( talk) 15:53, 28 January 2009 (UTC) reply

When a new designation is brought about, this would be moved to New York State Route 382 (1930s) and the current title would talk about the new designation.Mitch32( Go Syracuse) 15:58, 28 January 2009 (UTC) reply

I added a NY map so people would know where NY 382 is located. Not as good as a map with the road marked but the road is very short. Chergles ( talk) 16:09, 29 January 2009 (UTC) reply

notice to readers

I didn't put a footnote but astute readers may see various spellings to Allegheny. These are intentional. The names of the state part, national forest, Indian reservation, and river are similar but are not all the same spelling. Chergles ( talk) 18:08, 29 January 2009 (UTC) reply

Name problem?

I want to "get it right" to use the same terminology as Jimbo Wales. I am researching the exact name of the highway. Press reports from the NYDOT don't seem to report roads using the term "New York State Route (number)". They seem to use "NY Route (number)" or just "Route (number)". I think we need to change the name, eliminating "state". Chergles ( talk) 18:02, 31 January 2009 (UTC) reply

NY location

A map showing which part of New York this route is located is no longer in the article. So some people may not know if the road was near Buffalo, Albany, White Plains, etc. Any opposition to putting it back? It was a New York State map with a red dot in the SW corner.
