I visited there recently, and during the guided tour, asked the guide about this. She knew nothing about it. Also, the plantation was managed by a former Union general after the war, so it seems unlikely that the owners were Confederate sympathizers. We need a cite for this. -- rogerd 16:49, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

The lead looks good now. The article meets the GA criteria. WTF? ( talk) 16:45, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
I see no references in regards to the speculative nature of the mentioning of Stephen Foster. It is my understanding from the history books that Stephen Foster wrote My Old Kentucky Home after visiting Federal Hill. It is also my understanding that the only thing that was under investigation by historians is whether Foster wrote it WHILE STAYING AT Federal hill. There is no question that Foster visited Federal Hill. Provide a reference for this speculation or it will be reverted back to the original. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Outcomer ( talk • contribs) 03:50, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Only two references are actually in the document. The third is absent even though it links to "Marsh". The two references that are linked are both over 10 years old. I see in both books where it states that it is questionable, HOWEVER, I do not see any indication that current historians DOUBT him visiting his cousins home at one point. If anything, one reference states that there are eye witnesses that describe him being at Federal Hill at one point. Outcomer ( talk) 18:41, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
