I think the requirement that A is closed can be left away (since this is automatically implied by A being dissipative and the existence of some \lambda>0 for which \lambda - A is surjective; compare for example the book "Markov processes" by Stewart Ethier and Thomas G. Kurtz). Maybe you could mention that in the article.
