I hold doubt about how Simon Leys' quote reflects Liu Xiaobo's idea. Liu is famous for his criticism on Chinese nationalism and Leys quote attributes him as nationalist. Why don't people quote the Liu's pieces on Chinese nationalism and modernization instead of relying on a third person comment which takes a unbalanced large part in the section. Secondly, why there is a whole section on his pro-US stances on his political views section when his most famous views are the views on Chinese political system and democratic reform?
