President William McKinley visited Fargo and Wahpeton on October 13, 1899. In Fargo he addressed a gathering of citizens and the Volunteers of the 1st North Dakota Volunteer Infantry, recently returned for service in the Philippines. He stopped in Wahpeton at the request of newly elected U.S. Senator Porter McCumber, who was from Wahpeton. From there McKinley travelled to South Dakota. Reagan visit in 1980?

A good while ago, my late father told me that Ronald Reagan, prior to being elected president, visited Bismarck, North Dakota (and possibly other cities in the state) during the 1980 election for his Presidential campaign. My father was employed as a deputy with the county sheriff's department at the time, who helped to provide support (along with the Bismarck Police Department and other local/state law enforcement agencies) for the Secret Service's security detail for Reagan. Apparently he visited Kirkwood Mall, and made a public appearance there for his campaign. Can anyone verify this? misternuvistor ( talk) 03:42, 24 January 2013 (UTC) reply
