The contents of the List of Utahns page were merged into List of people from Utah. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page. |
What is the criteria for people on this list? People like Don Bluth have taken permenant residence in Utah for a time but were born and now live elsewhere, others like Mitt Romney went to school in Utah but otherwise never lived there.
Should List of Utahns be moved here?-- Thelema12 ( talk) 22:53, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
There are formatting differences between the two lists. Any suggestions? -- Thelema12 ( talk) 04:39, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
The easiest thing would be to alphabetize the whole thing; if I do that, I lose the categories from List of Utahns: Law and Government, Religion, Business, Athletics, Entertainment, Science and Engineering, Criminal, Authors, and Artists. Should I preserve these categories, and if so, how? Thanks! -- Thelema12 ( talk) 19:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I merged the people from the List of Utahns to this list. I still need to do some cleanup here, and I haven't got rid of the other article yet. Does anyone care if we lose the categories from the other article? -- Thelema12 ( talk) 16:39, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I kind of messed up. I put everyone from List of Utahns into this list on October 30th, and then I left the other list up, so now new people have been added to that list. I should bring them over and then make that list a redirect. What's your opinion of the categories on the other page?-- Thelema12 ( talk) 17:56, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, did it. List of Utahns is now just a redirect.-- Thelema12 ( talk) 21:48, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
This list seems particularly vulnerable to additions that are not notable. Today I removed a band that was no more notable than a hundred other music groups in Utah that aren't on this list. I notice there are a couple of former low level wrestlers on here currently.
How about a general consensus that if the person or group doesn't have an existing, established Wikipedia article, then they are removed? In other words, no red links. Anyone have an opinion on this? GreenGlass (talk) 23:30, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
When you remove a person from the list, a brief statement of the reason for the removal would be helpful. For example, in the edit summary, you could say 'not from Utah,' or something, so that people would know why you removed somebody..-- Thelema12 ( talk) 20:10, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
hes from utah he said it himself, has he every said exactly "I am from the United Kingdom"? no however he did say he is from Utah. 88.240.77.12 ( talk) 14:34, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
