Do these qualify?

Does eventing also qualify? I know eventing is mentioned as a type of horse show at Horse show #International organizations and competitions, but perhaps horse trials are essentially something different? If not, then consider:

and others. Or maybe there's another stand-alone list article to be made?

CHIO Aachen seems to be a mix of horse show and horse trials, so I wouldn't know where to place it. -- RexxS ( talk) 00:39, 31 March 2017 (UTC) reply

Huh, I'm not sure. To me, horse show is something like western pleasure or saddle seat with multiple horses and riders competing against each other and being judged on form, the grooming and presentation of the horse, etc. Horse trials are virtually the same thing as eventing, which is in the Olympics. Maybe we do need a separate list for them, and probably for dressage-only and show jumping-only events. They are the other two Olympic horse sports, so there are going to be more articles about them. Dublin is not in the UK

Dublin is in Ireland, not the UK. Other UK shows to possibly add are the Royal Welsh and the Royal Highland. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.48.15.246 ( talk) 10:24, 25 September 2019 (UTC) reply

Hello, could you please explain me how could I know which English or American etc. source is RS or not, and why did you delete references which ocurred according to your proposal to find sources, but which are now "not useful" for you? -- Silve rije 22:13, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

@ Silverije: worldequestriancenter.com seemed to violate WP:PROMO, even as an external link, and didn't support any of the material in the article. Despite using the word "World" in their name, that is a single location in Ohio, USA. I don't think the other two WP:EXTLINKs are appropriate, but at least they cover vast geographical areas, not just a single event venue.

You cited a 1985 magazine issue with no preview, no page number, no indication what one is supposed to find in the magazine (if one had a copy), or what the reference is supposed to support. Hanging 3 citations off the term " horse show" near the beginning of a sentence is odd. Were those citations supposed to support the entire sentence, even though the citation was placed near the front of the sentence?

Hungarian or Croatian googlebooks isn't helpful in English Wikipedia, especially when there doesn't seem to be a way to flip to English. And if I go to English googlebooks to search that same book, I can't find it.

Similar answer about the 1968 "Evening Times" newspaper article. What content in the Wikipedia article is it supposed to source?

The website horseontheloose.com is not a reliable source per WP:QUESTIONABLE.

The point of asking for citations is not to throw just anything into the article, but to find sources that support the inclusion of specific content already in the article. Per WP:SOURCELIST, items in a Wikipedia list still need citations even if they are wikilinked to their own standalone article.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 23:23, 8 April 2024 (UTC) reply
