This list should be edited (probably by someone more knowledgeable in literature than I) to provide more information, aid in navigation, and be more accessible (see WP:LIST). Two suggestions for improvement:

In its present form, the list provides information on the country of birth of each essayist. However, some may confuse this with nationality. For example, Alfred Brendel was born in Czechoslovakia but is of Austrian origin. I have added an explicit warning at the top of the article, but maybe this isn't enough. I would like to see what others think before making any significant change(s).
On a similar note, should the country links connect to the respective countries or peoples (e.g., should the country link for a French author link to France or to French people)? Black Falcon 03:54, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Removed names that were red linked via WP:Afd or internal/external checks for notability. Sorry...and I didn't know if there was another way to correct my edit summary. Me editt gud one day. Flowanda 01:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
I am new to editing, and a little loathe to go in and try and fix it, but I'm pretty sure T.S. Eliot has a wiki! QueenofRods ( talk) 21:26, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
